Janitor Josh Futturman feels stuck in his dad-end job so he spends a lot of time playing unbeatable video game "Biotic Wars"; after he beats the game, mysterious visitors from the future appear, endangering the world -- and only Josh can save it.
In Josh, Tiger and Wolf launch a mission to infiltrate a fraternity party and prevent Dr. Kronish from contracting herpes, but the destruction they've left in their wake catches up with them. When Tiger and Wolf decide it's time for Dr.
Kronish to die, Josh reluctantly agrees to help but ultimately finds himself caught in Tiger and Wolf's sights after realizing he can't go through with it. Following the disastrous assassination attempt on Dr. Kronish, Tiger and Wolf kick Josh off the mission; when their Time Travel Device is compromised, Josh agrees to try to get them more fuel if they let him back on the team.
Tiger, Wolf and Josh work to unmask the Biotics undercover at the Kronish Labs Christmas party; Josh grows closer to co-worker Jeri as she helps him avoid the obsessed policeman hot on his trail. With 27 minutes before a bomb explodes in the head of the captured Biotic, Josh, Tiger and Wolf hold a high-stakes interrogation in Josh's bedroom while his unwitting parents host a holiday dinner party downstairs.
Josh, Tiger and Wolf jump into the future to steal the fuel they desperately need to continue their mission; they are confronted by an unexpected enemy when they arrive at their destination. The end of the mission is in sight as Tiger and Wolf prepare for a final jump into the past, but when Josh's mom is kidnapped he refuses to let Tiger and Wolf leave before mounting a daring rescue to save her.
Convinced he knows how to stop Dr. Kronish for good, Josh commandeers the Time Travel Device and leads the team on a mission into the past, but they have to split up when Wolf goes missing -- leaving Josh to carry out his insane plan alone.

Can the hardened future warriors shape the shiftless Josh into the hero the future needs? Or will the banality of his life drag them all into irrelevance and mediocrity? Time travel has never made less sense.
