Andy crowe pmp eighth edition pdf download

It gives you the right ingredients to succeed in the PMP Exam. It tells the reader what to expect and how to prepare for the exam. The Chapter 14 of the book provides strategies to pass the exam.

Chapter 14 also provides tricks and traps to solve the exam questions. I think Chapter 14 is the best part of the book. Each chapter of the book starts with a small background and introduction. At the beginning of the chapter, the author explains the significance of the Knowledge Area and its relevance to the overall project management. Each chapter ends with an exercise. The book has a full-length questions exam at the end. The chapter questions and final questions provide a very good coverage of the PMP topics.

However, I found these questions to be somewhat easier than the real exam. This book keeps the explanation simple and is easy to understand.

You can read more about the contents of the Kit in the next section. I believe kit provide far better value than the book. Disclosure : I have not received any compensation in cash or kind from the Authors or the Publishers or anyone else associated with the book for writing this article. This commission helps me in maintaining this blog for free. I do not actively use any of these books since I am already certified. But, I recommend only those products that I believe will definitely help the certification aspirants.

This book comes with a CD which includes exam preparation software, an assessment test, electronic flashcards, and some audio recordings. If you study this book, attempt all questions given in the exercise, and try a few more practice questions, you will be in a comfortable position to attempt the exam.

Rita is very good at giving real world examples. Reading this book will be like a reading a novel. One thing I like about this book is its process chart. Rita has a process chart in her book, just one look at this chart clears many doubts, and helps you remember the project management processes in sequence. You can activate this subscription one week before your exam and take full advantage of it. This tool gives you a boost to your exam preparation before the real exam.

This book has a full length test at the end. Although the difficulty level of these questions is not as high as the real exam, it helps you identify your knowledge gaps. This guide is a bible for all PMP aspirants, and you must keep a copy of it with you at all times. It does not matter how many reference books you study, your preparation is not complete until you go through the PMBOK Guide.

However, if you want to study with a printed book, here is the Amazon link for your reference. This book is written by me. While developing the PMP Question Bank, I have avoided duplicating questions so that you can learn a new concept with every new question. Many people struggle with solving mathematical questions, which constitutes a significant part of the PMP exam. If you are not comfortable with mathematical questions, you are not well prepared. This PMP Formula Guide explains the mathematical concepts to you and decode their results analytically.

This guide has the simplest examples to explain these formulas so that you can understand them easily and apply the concepts in the exam. Find any other resources to do as many questions as possible. It'll give you a good idea of how you need to think through the questions. The answers are not always straightforward and often times, there seem to be multiple correct answers but still only 1 best answer.

I'd definitely recommend Crowe's book for those studying for the PMP exam. Not what I would choose to crack open for pleasure reading before bed, but definitely great for PMP exam prep. This book was used as a supplement to the classroom material for my prep course, and recommended to supplement - not replace - a complete reading of the PMBOK.

I might try to get my hands on Rita's book as well I haven't yet taken the exam just finished the prep course last week , but if all goes well I'll take it - and pass - in about 3 weeks.

Will try to remember to come back and update my review based on how well I thought it prepared me for the exam. Feb 24, Priyanka Gupta rated it really liked it. You will feel very comfortable while reading the book. As you read the book, it makes you feel confident about passing the exam. I think the style of the writing and the language of the book would appeal to most of the readers. The book has a full-length questions exam at the end. The chapter questions and final questions provide a very good coverage of the PMP topics.

However, I found these questions to be somewhat easier than the real exam. Dec 30, Elise T. So, I guess the title speaks for itself. I ended up reading it almost cover to cover twice, and only used the PMBOK guide as a reference document my PMBOK guide had an agile add-on and was almost pages- who has time for that So why isn't this a 5 star review?

While I had no other physical study materials, it took me much longer than I care to admit to figure out some "basic" PMP principles. I think the book is missing a dumbed-down section, or a more thorough introduction to those of us that are project managers, but not perhaps "traditional" project managers working for IT companies I have worked in pharmaceutical development and logistics- project management is mostly dealing with emergencies.

I may have passed the PMP with this book as my only study guide, but of course I'm not certain now because I didn't feel ready after just reading this twice and doing his practice questions. Actually, contrary to what I had heard, the PMP was almost easy compared to the practice exams I'd been taking.

I don't know that I'd recommend this book alone, but in conjunction with other study materials it will indeed help you pass on your first try. Feb 05, Prashant rated it it was amazing. It's name is aptly correct and further the sequence of material and lucid language makes it worthwhile to study before exam.

I used andy's book along with Rita's although i didn't complete any exercise from Rita, but i completed Andy's reading and exercises twice and full test paper once just few days before exam. I think Andy's book and pmbok guide along with additional practice questions are sufficient to pass the exam. Jun 26, Jeremy Hurd-McKenney rated it it was amazing Shelves: non-fiction , hefty-tomes , five-stars-from-jeremy , read-in Well, I passed the exam after reading this book, so it must be doing something right.

I will say that the Prometric testing centers at least the one I used are on to all of the "tips and tricks" listed and have adjusted accordingly, so don't look for that section to be super helpful.

Sep 28, Shae rated it it was amazing. Excellent preparation for the exam. Excellent, practical, and a very easy and entertaining read, and oh yeah, I passed on my first try! Thanks Andy! Good book to prep for the PMP. Oct 12, A.

Fantastic text for its purpose, it did indeed help me pass the PMP exam. Feb 13, Keiko rated it it was amazing. Worked like a boss. Passed the first time. Apr 30, Ronnie Glavan rated it really liked it. A great book to get you prepped for the PMP test. I do not feel this is an all-inclusive book and think it could compliment another study aide.

Very easy to read and laid out nice. Good book along with my bootcamp. Oct 29, Ben added it. Not exactly my usual literary fare, but I read this book twice! And yes, I passed the PMP exam on my first try. Nicely organized and easy to read.
